OHSAA Division I State Championships | 11th Place
Lakota East Boys Golf completed an outstanding postseason journey with an 9th-place finish at the OHSAA Division I State Championships, held October 12–13 at NCR Country Club.
Making their first state tournament appearance in four years, the Thunderhawks were led by senior standout and Wright State University signee Brody Hayes, who finished 10th individually with a two-day total of 148. Hayes opened with a sensational two-under-par 70, placing him second overall after the opening round, before closing with a 78.
The state appearance was a fitting accomplishment for Hayes, who had made reaching the championship one of his primary goals throughout his high school career.
East finished with a two-day team total of 635. Other Thunderhawk contributors included Joshua Harden (161), Jack Hoover (164), Ethan Keller (164) and Brady Cecil (186).
Head coach Joe Robertson praised his players for their hard work and determination throughout the season. The state tournament marked Robertson's first appearance as the Thunderhawks' head coach and provided a memorable conclusion to an exceptional season.
Congratulations to Coach Robertson and the East Boys Golf team on representing Thunderhawk Nation among Ohio's best!
