The Baseball staff is very excited about the 2022 season. This year’s team has 4 returning position player starters from the 2021 which finished tied for 4th place in the GMC. We have good balance between returning starters and talented newcomers, which gives us a good deal of confidence as we begin the 2022 season.
Pitching is always the key to the success of any season and we have a great deal of talent at that position. The Thunderhawks have a very talented Pitching staff. This group includes: Returning Pitchers Evan Whiteaker (Indiana Commit), Jack Villarreal, Connor Frank, Carson French(UC Commit) and Cody Watkins(Thomas More Commit). The newcomers bring a wealth of talent and depth. They are Ethan Gagliardo, Wyatt Kleinmann, Connor Munro, Danny Sergent and Drew Tower are all capable and battling for innings. This Pitching depth and talent could make the Thunderhawks serious contenders in the Greater Miami Conference.
The offensive and defensive projection is very encouraging with the returning infield starters Nick Rabin, Sam Pennix, and returners Max Vincent, Riley Duperier.along with talented newcomers Braeden Fry, Liam Bonfield, Max Hartmann and Drew Tower. In the Outfield we have two returning starters in Collin Sweeney(Lincoln Trail Commit), Jacob Finley and newcomers Alec Collins, Tanner Pencek, Wyatt Kleinmann, Trent Dilley, Ethan Gagliardo. The Thunderhawks added Ryder Parsell and Dylan Rieck to give depth and talent at the Catching position
Every season and team is different and we are very excited about the talent and depth on this team. They are a very close group and have very good leadership. We are looking forward to all the challenges that the GMC provides and playing some great baseball this spring.
