The Lakota East Thunderhawks enter the 2026 season under head coach
Steven Burkhardt, who is in his 8th year leading the program. Following a successful 2025 campaign that saw the team finish with a 13-8 record and reach the State Regional Semifinals, the Thunderhawks return a core group of senior leaders and experienced underclassmen.
The staff features a mix of veteran leadership and returning alumni:
· Head Coach: Steven Burkhardt (8th Season).
· Varsity Offensive Coach: Tyler Chalk '18 (Former East player).
· JV Coaching Staff: Ben Domina '21(Former East player) and Michael Addai (Mount Saint Joe graduate).

East Boys LAX beat GMC rivals West 10-8 on Tuesday, 4/15. The Hawk defense was led by seniors Dawson Reip, Jackson Lincicome, and Carter Moore. The offense was dominated by Juniors Alex Haucke and Brady Johnson with 5 and 4 goals

The Hawks Boys LAX team lost a heartbreaker at home on Tuesday night vs. Elder. Final score in overtime was 12-11. Waiting on details.
Next up, East will host West on Tuesday, 4/14.

East battled Oak Hills over spring break (4/2), coming up short 12-6. Junior goalie Calvin Woody had 15 saves while Junior Captain Alex Haucke had 4 goals.
Next for the Hawks (2-4, 1-2) is a home match versus Elder on Tuesday, 4/7.
