HAWKS AT MASON WEDNESDAY
Lakota East fell to Lakota West 51–42 last Friday, despite a gritty, balanced effort. Bella Sturgill led the Thunderhawks with 12 points and four rebounds, consistently attacking the basket and getting to the free-throw line.
Bailey Bacher and Payton Buker each added nine points, with Bacher also pulling down a team-high nine rebounds and Buker knocking down a pair of threes. Lakota East battled on the glass and at the foul line but struggled to find rhythm offensively, shooting 34.1% from the field and 28.6% from beyond the arc. A strong defensive effort kept the game within reach, but West did just enough late to hold on and seal the nine-point win.
