Lakota East Boys Soccer continues to establish itself as a contender in the Greater Miami Conference.
The Thunderhawks went on the road Tuesday and shut out Oak Hills 2-0.
After a scoreless opening half, Miles Polacheck broke through with a beautifully placed free kick to put East ahead. Polacheck later helped create the insurance goal, setting up Tucker Jones for a 2-0 advantage.
Goalkeeper Nick Maslin and the East defense took care of the rest, securing the shutout.
The Hawks then returned home Thursday for the always-anticipated rivalry matchup with Lakota West. East and West battled to a 1-1 draw, keeping the Thunderhawks unbeaten in conference play.
East now stands at an impressive 5-1-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the GMC.
