BOYS SOCCER DEFEATS NORTHMONT!

Posted on: September 10, 2021

The boy's soccer team won their fourth game in a row with a 3-0 shutout on the road against the Northmont Thunderbolts Thursday evening. Junior goalkeeper, Kobe Foster, came up with two big saves in the opening minutes of the match to keep Northmont off the board.

Nine minutes into the match the Hawks found their first goal off a cross by junior defender, Gavin Hook, that connected with junior midfielder, Jacob Nguyen, who fired it past the Thunderbolt keeper. East defense limited Northmont’s chances for the remainder of the first half taking a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Midway through the second half senior forward, Jack Pascoal, earned a penalty kick after being taken down inside the box. Pascoal finished the PK extending the Hawk’s lead to 2-0. Before the final whistle, junior forward, Khalid Eid, took advantage of Thunderbolt's miscue and scored his first goal of the season, finalizing the score 3-0. Foster earned his third shutout in a row and collected five saves during the match.

The Hawk’s record moves to 4-1-0 (1-0-0 GMC). They continue on the road Saturday evening as they travel back north to take on the Springboro Panthers.
