WRESTLING QUALIFIES 6 HAWKS TO DISTRICT

STANLEY WINS SECTIONAL TITLE!

The Thunderhawks BOY WRESTLING TEAM started their journey to the state tournament last Saturday by competing at the Sectional tournament at Middletown.

For East, nine underclassmen placed at Sectional,  with six of them qualifying for the District Tournament. See the scores and highlights below:

1 - La Salle 262.0

2 - Sycamore 174.0

3 - St. Xavier 142.5

4 - Lakota East 142.0 

Individual Placements

120 - Freshman Silas Wood 5th place

126 - Sophomore Evan Malay 4th place / District qualifier

132 - Junior Evan Watterson 6th place

138 - Senior Tyler Epstein 4th place / District qualifier

144 - Junior Sherbek Ruzimurodo 5th place

150 - Freshman Brady Dillon 4th place / District qualifier

157 - Junior Mason Tideswell 2nd place / District qualifier

190 - Junior Matt Malay 6th place

215 - Junior Cohen Reip 2nd place / District qualifier

285 - Junior DJ Stanley SECTIONAL CHAMPION / District qualifier

The District tournament is March 1st and 2nd at Fairmont's Trent Arena.

The top four in each weight class will qualify for the STATE tournament.
