Lakota East Boys Golf is headed back to STATE!
The Thunderhawks delivered when it mattered most Monday at the OHSAA District Championships at Heatherwoode, firing a team score of 307 to finish third overall and claim the final qualifying position for the OHSAA State Championships.
And it came down to the very end.
Senior Brody Hayes capped another outstanding performance with a 71, finishing third individually. His final putt proved especially important, helping East finish one stroke ahead of Elder for the final state berth.
Senior Jack Hoover added an excellent 76, placing 18th overall. Ethan Keller shot 78, Brady Cecil 82 and Joshua Harden 83.
St. Xavier won the district with a 290, followed by Moeller at 305 and East at 307.
The accomplishment sends Lakota East to the State Championships for the seventh time in program history and the first since 2023.
It has already been a memorable season for the Hawks, highlighted by Hayes winning the GMC individual championship and GMC Player of the Year honors, and now East has an opportunity to finish the year on Ohio's biggest stage.
NEXT UP: The Hawks compete in the OHSAA State Championships, Oct. 12–13 at NCR Country Club.
