Softball improved to 2-0 in GMC play with a 14–5 win over District rival Lakota West on Tuesday, powered by a breakout offensive performance.
East tallied 17 hits with nine different players recording hits. Senior Haley Thompson led the surge with a home run and a triple, driving in five runs. Her third-inning triple also marked the 100th varsity hit of her career. Maddie Offner, Yorie Schulte, and Kaleigh Crawford each added three hits.
Crawford was dominant in the circle, allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings.
The Thunderhawks have now won six straight, improving to 6-2 overall (2-0 GMC). Next up, East travels to Colerain today (Wednesday, 4/8).
