Putter's Lakota East Athletes of the Week for 9/1/22

Jocey is a senior on the East Girls Cross Country Team 

Jocey ran a tremendous early season time of 19:19.4 to place 3rd overall at her own Lakota East Fall Classic on Saturday, August 27th at Voice of America Metropark.  There were 120 athletes in the 5k (3.1-mile) race.  This was also over a minute faster than her season debut performance at the OHSAA Early Season Invitational one week earlier.  Jocey seems to be on track to becoming one of the top female distance runners in the state this Fall.

MARSHALL NOVEAN

Marshall is a senior on the East Boys Cross Country Team

Marshall ran a lifetime best performance of 16:45.7 on the 5k (3.1-mile) Championship Course at Voice of America Metropark this past weekend at the Lakota East Fall Classic.  Marshall placed 6th overall out of 132 runners in the race.  That time also moves Marshall up to #25 on the all-time performance list of Lakota East Cross Country athletes.  It will be fun to see how much higher Marshall can climb on that list throughout the Fall.
