Congratulations to Alyssa Browne (Girls Cross Country) & Elijah Grissom (Boys Cross Country)

ALYSSA BROWNE 

Freshman sensation Alyssa Browne has wasted no time making her mark on the Lakota East Girls Cross Country program. Entering her first high school season with plenty of anticipation, Alyssa has more than lived up to the hype, consistently impressing teammates, coaches, and competitors with her outstanding performances and tireless work ethic.

Browne has finished inside the top 25 in every race she has competed in this fall, providing the Hawks with a steady and dynamic presence in their lineup. She delivered one of her best outings yet at the Little Miami Invitational, placing 8th overall and helping lead East to a team victory against a deep and talented field.

Her early success has already cemented her place in Lakota East history, as she currently ranks as the 21st fastest female runner to ever compete for the Hawks. With years still ahead in her high school career, Alyssa is poised to continue her climb up the program leaderboards and solidify herself as one of East’s all-time greats.

ELIJAH GRISSOM 

Senior leader Elijah Grissom has been a steady and reliable contributor to the Lakota East Boys Cross Country program throughout his career. A respected team captain, Elijah sets the tone for the Hawks with his determination, consistency, and leadership both on and off the course.

This past weekend at the Little Miami Invitational, Elijah turned in a gutsy performance, battling through a challenging course to record a season-best time. His toughness and grit not only fueled his own success but also served as an inspiration for his teammates.

Grissom’s steady improvement and relentless work ethic will continue to pay off as he aims to cut down his times and close his senior campaign on a high note. The Hawks are fortunate to have a leader like Elijah guiding the way.
