Lakota East Athletics is proud to recognize Ava Dickenson as this week’s Putters Sports Grill Spring Athlete of the Week!

A standout junior on the Thunderhawks’ track & field team, Ava has already etched her name among the greatest distance runners in school history. This season, she has delivered a pair of blistering 5:01 mile performances and a sharp 2:19 in the 800 meters — both ranking in the Top 3 all-time at Lakota East.

Competing against elite competition, Ava has consistently risen to the occasion, finishing no lower than 6th in any race this season. Her relentless drive and competitive edge have been on full display, and she’s charging into the postseason with conference and district titles firmly in her sights.

Congratulations, Ava — your hard work, talent, and tenacity continue to inspire the Lakota East community!

BLAKE GIBBS 

Lakota East Athletics is proud to recognize Blake Gibbs as this week’s Putters Sports Grill Spring Athlete of the Week!

A senior leader and driving force behind the boys' distance squad, Blake has delivered a dominant final season on the track. He claimed victory in the mile at the Lakota East Invitational and followed it up with a commanding win in the two-mile at the Edgewood Invitational.

Blake is not only a standout individual performer but also a team-first competitor, serving as the reliable leadoff leg in the Thunderhawks’ 4x800-meter relay.

Already etched in the record books as one of the Top 3 milers in Lakota East history, Blake is charging into the postseason with major goals — eyeing a conference title and a successful defense of his district crown.

Congratulations, Blake — your dedication, leadership, and excellence continue to elevate Lakota East Track & Field!
