The East Girls Track team competed at the Loveland Invite on Friday, 5/1, highlighted by event wins, relay success, and standout field efforts.
Sprint action was led by Arianna Spangler, who ran 13.71 in the 100 meters, while Kaylin Tate followed with a 15.49. In the 200 meters, Duriyah Kelley paced the group with a 28.00, and Kanise Sheckles added a time of 30.18.,
The 400 meters featured strong efforts from Zy’Aire Fowler, who finished in 1:08.72, and Aniyah Agyekum, who crossed in 1:11.56. Kaitlyn Wheatley took on the 800 meters, posting a time of 2:40.42.
Distance runners Isabel Grissom and Lucy Ostermeyer competed in the 1600 meters, finishing in 6:43.61 and 6:50.14, respectively. Over the hurdles, Marvelous Raye turned in a solid race in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.93.
The Girls 4x200 relay of Duriyah Kelley, Arianna Spangler, Aria Peck, and Kanise Sheckles delivered a strong performance, earning 4th place with a time of 1:51.11.
The field events were a major highlight, led by Bailey Bacher, who captured 1st place in the shot put with a winning throw of 39-11 and followed up with a 3rd-place finish in the discus at 104-02. Katherine Gambetta added a shot put mark of 29-05, and Summer Sobkowiak cleared 7-0 in the pole vault.

East was at the Wayne Invite on Saturday, 5/2. The girls squad brought the energy and delivered big performances across the track, highlighted by podium finishes, personal grit, and championship-level racing.
Starting off the meet, the Distance Medley Relay team of Ava Dickenson, Elise Brown, Alyssa Browne, and Molly Deardorff put together a gutsy, fast race to claim 3rd place, finishing in 12:29.77.
Distance runners set the tone early as Ava Dickenson powered to a 4th-place finish in the 1600 meters with an outstanding time of 5:09.54. Fresh off of injury and rounding into form, Molly Deardorff battled through a deep 3200-meter field to earn 8th place in her journey back to championship form at 11:12.28.
Brooks Billingsley clocked 6:11.64 in the 1600. Dorothy Specht showed determination in the 3200 meters, finishing strong in 13:09.
In the middle distances, Alyssa Browne and Ava Kidd raced tough in the 800 meters, posting times of 2:27.71 and 2:29.26, respectively, against a deep field.
The sprint group showed strength in the 400 meters with Qiersten McClain running 1:00.02 for a solid 15th-place finish, followed by Lauren Dodd in 1:01.23.
The highlight of the meet came in the hurdles, where Mikaylah Chandler dominated the 300 hurdles, charging to a 1st-place finish with a winning time of 44.66—a standout performance that energized the entire team.
