GIRLS TRACK EARLY SEASON RESULTS/UPDATES

Lakota East Girls Track & Field delivered a strong early-season stretch across three meets, highlighted by multiple event wins, relay success, and consistent top-three finishes.

At the Ross Invite (4/1), East placed 6th overall. Standouts included Kaitlyn Wheatley, who took 2nd in the 800 (2:37.15), and Marvelous Raye, who earned 2nd in the 300 hurdles (51.66) and 4th in the 100 hurdles. Lauren Dodd added a 3rd-place finish in the 200 (27.72), while the 4x100 relay placed 4th in 53.49.

At the Edgewood Invite (4/2), the Thunderhawks surged to a 3rd-place team finish behind a balanced effort across track and field events. Ava Dickenson led the distance group with a win in the 800 (2:22.38) and a 2nd-place finish in the 1600. Mikaylah Chandler and Gianna Perry powered the sprint group, with Perry winning the 200 (27.46) and Chandler taking 2nd in the same event at Edgewood. Lauren Dodd also finished 2nd in the 400 (1:02.29). East capped the meet with a dominant win in the 4x400 relay (4:20), featuring Chandler, Dodd, Perry, and Lunkenheimer.-----------------

At the Loveland Invite, East finished 4th overall and continued to pile up top performances. Gianna Perry won the 200 (27.46), while Qiersten McClain captured the 400 (1:02.06). The distance crew excelled, with Ava Dickenson finishing 2nd in the 800 and the 4x800 relay taking 1st in 10:11.06. Bailey Bacher also had a standout day in the field, winning shot put (38-11.50) and placing 2nd in discus. East added a strong 2nd-place finish in the 4x400 relay and a 2nd-place finish from Karoline Oelker in pole vault.

Lakota East will compete next at the Princeton Invite on Saturday, April 11.
