GIRLS TENNIS SWEEPS HAMILTON

Lakota East Girls Tennis got back in the win column Tuesday with an impressive 5-0 sweep of Hamilton.

East received singles victories from Emese Watkins, Zara Parson and Scarlett Black.

The doubles teams were equally impressive. Alana Barrett and Macy Rolke rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 victory, while Pilar Alonso Simancas and Coryn Thrash won 6-0, 6-1.

The Hawks returned to the courts Wednesday and nearly made it two straight, falling to Milford in a tight 3-2 decision.

Parson earned another singles victory against Milford, while Sara Rabin and Emese Watkins teamed for a straight-set doubles win.

Thursday's scheduled match against Mason was postponed because of rain.

NEXT UP: East hosts Loveland on Monday.
