GIRLS' BASKETBALL WINTER BREAK UPDATES
On Friday, 12/19, East defeated Hamilton 56-31. The Hawks got 14-point efforts from Bailey Bacher and Isadore McCune to help with the victory.

On Monday, December 22, East fell to Seton 53-41. Bella Sturgil's 13 points led East. Bailey Bacher and Isadore McCune added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

East Girls competed in the Beacon Hardwood Classic over the Holidays.
East fell to Milford, 56–28, on Sunday, 12/28, as the Thunderhawks struggled to find an offensive rhythm against a strong Milford defense. Bella Sturgill led the way for Lakota East with a standout performance, scoring 19 points and pulling down 13 rebounds to anchor the team on both ends of the floor. Payton Buker provided energy defensively, finishing with four steals to help create pressure and extra possessions. At the same time, Bailey Bacher contributed across the stat sheet with two assists, a steal, and a block while logging significant minutes. Despite the effort, Lakota East shot just 26.8% from the field and 8.3% from three, making it difficult to keep pace throughout the game.

Lakota East came up just short in a tightly contested matchup, falling to Little Miami 57–54 on Saturday, 1/3. The Thunderhawks were led by Isadore McCune, who paced the team with 16 points while adding four rebounds and three assists, consistently attacking the basket.
Bailey Bacher delivered a strong all-around effort with 13 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, helping keep Lakota East within striking distance throughout. Bella Sturgill also chipped in 13 points and three assists, providing a steady scoring presence.
Despite solid contributions and battling to the final possessions, Lakota East couldn’t quite overcome Little Miami’s late push.
East (3-8, 3-2) returns to action Saturday, 1/10 @ Oak Hills.
