GIRLS BASKETBALL EARNS TWO GMC WINS!

Lakota East pulled out a gritty 47–44 win over Mason on Wednesday, 2/4, by leaning on timely scoring and relentless defense down the stretch. Bella Sturgill led the charge with a game-high 20 points, attacking the paint and getting to the line when it mattered most. Bailey Bacher added 14 points while knocking down a pair of threes and contributing on the glass, giving the Thunderhawks a steady offensive presence all night. 

Isadore McCune rounded out the top performers with her impact on the defensive end, finishing with 4 steals and helping spark key momentum shifts as Lakota East forced turnovers and protected the narrow lead late to seal the big win.

 

Lakota East edged Fairfield 56–54 on Saturday in a tight, hard-fought win, leaning on balance, defense, and clutch free throws down the stretch. Isadore McCune led the way with a game-high 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting, setting the tone offensively and consistently attacking the basket.

Bella Sturgill was huge as well, pouring in 16 points and going an impressive 12-of-15 at the free-throw line, including key makes late to seal the win. Payton Buker rounded out the top performers with 7 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals, helping steady the offense while contributing on the defensive end.

Lakota East overcame a narrow margin by forcing turnovers, winning the rebounding battle, and capitalizing at the line to close out the Indians in a thrilling finish.

The Lady Hawks (9-11, 9-5) will visit Princeton on Wednesday, 2/11.

The regular season finale is slated for Saturday, 2/14, at home for senior day with Colerain.

The girls' postseason draw is slated for Sunday, 2/15.
