GIRLS' BASKETBALL DEFEATS INDIANS
Lakota East cruised to a dominant 50–25 win over Fairfield last Friday, controlling the game with suffocating defense and a commanding presence on the glass. The Thunderhawks forced turnovers, limited Fairfield’s scoring opportunities, and finished with a decisive rebounding advantage that set the tone throughout.
Bella Sturgill led the way with a strong double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds while going 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Payton Buker added 10 points along with 3 assists and 2 steals, consistently pressuring the defense and attacking the basket. Bailey Bacher was a force inside, pulling down 14 rebounds to go with 2 blocks and 3 assists, anchoring Lakota East defensively as they rolled to an impressive team victory.
Next up for East is a home game versus Middletown on Wed. 1/21.
