FOOTBALL FALLS TO ELKS

Football opened their season before a big crowd and the Hawks Next last Friday as they celebrated "Future Hawks" night.
The contest between Centerville and East was a defensive battle with the Elks holding a 9-0 lead most of the night. East got on the board in the fourth quarter and was in a position to tie or take the lead late in the game. A fumble ended a drive with less than 2 minutes remaining. Then after a defensive stop, a roughing of the kicker penalty ended East's chances for an opening win.
The Hawks won't have time to lick their wounds as the annual East-West Showdown is this Friday. A big crowd is expected so get your tickets early.
