BOYS VOLLEYBALL CLAIMS THIRD STRAIGHT GMC CHAMPIONSHIP, 24-0 SINCE 2023!

Lakota East secured its third consecutive GMC Championship dominantly, sweeping Hamilton in straight sets (25-4, 25-5, 25-6) to cap off a perfect 8-0 conference season.

Over the past three seasons, East has not lost a GMC match, going 24-0 in that stretch. For the Hawks, it marks their 1th overall GMC title.

The Thunderhawks now sit at 19-3 overall following the conclusion of the regular season.

East has been powered all season by a balanced and explosive lineup. Junior outside hitter Austin Dreher leads the GMC with 265 kills, while senior Kendrick McCune has been a force from the service line with a conference-best 60 aces and ranks fourth in the GMC with 162 kills.

Running the offense, sophomore setter Jude Callahan has been outstanding, leading the league with 630 assists. Defensively, senior libero Carson Berling anchors the back row with a GMC-leading 97 digs and an impressive 2.37 serve receive average.

The Thunderhawks closed the regular season on Monday, 5/4, bouncing back from a three-set loss to St. Xavier (25-17, 25-16, 25-19) with a strong four-set win over Walnut Hills (20-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-17).

Lakota East now turns its focus to the postseason, opening tournament play on Wednesday, May 13 at home against Kings. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
