BOYS TENNIS TAKES DOWN WEST!
HAWKS REMAIN PERFECT IN THE GMC!
Like all great rivalry matchups, the East vs. West tennis match on Wednesday night lived up to the hype. Both teams battled across nearly three hours of intense play before East emerged with a hard-fought 4–1 victory.
West opened the night with a win at first doubles, but the Hawks responded quickly with strong performances from Ethan Vass at first singles and Mercer Mills at second singles. The teams split sets at third singles and second doubles, setting up a dramatic finish.
Varun Das faced a 4–1 deficit in the third set before shifting the momentum, reeling off five straight games to complete the comeback and secure the team win.
At second doubles, Ricky Unger and Likith Kandula staged an even more impressive rally, trailing 5–1 in the third set before finding their rhythm. Behind sharp groundstrokes, steady volleys, and strong serving, they surged back to win six consecutive games and take the set 7–5.
The Hawks showed tremendous perseverance and determination to earn a statement win over their district rival, improving to 4–0 in the GMC and 7–2 overall.
