The East boys soccer team defeated the Springboro Panthers on the road Saturday evening 2-0. In the opening minutes of the match senior captain, Connor Pletikapich, was taken down inside the penalty area earning a pk for his team. Pletikapich converted the pk giving the Hawks an early 1-0 lead. Two minutes later in the match, the Hawks struck again when junior, Jacob Nguyen’s cross found the head of the senior captain, Andrew Shroder, who beat the Panther goalkeeper near post extending the lead 2-0.

The Hawk’s defense absorbed Springboro’s high intense attack to preserve the shutout making it their fourth shutout in a row and fifth straight victory. Goalkeeper, Kobe Foster recorded 8 saves on the match. 

The Hawk’s return home Tuesday to continue GMC play against the Sycamore Aviators. East record improves to 5-1-1 (1-0-0 GMC).
