THE HAWKS TAKE THE LEAD IN GMC!

In an electrifying match-up against GMC rival Hamilton, the Lakota East Boys Soccer team put on a dazzling display of skill and teamwork, securing a convincing 5-0 win that left fans cheering and opponents in awe.

The action kicked off early, with Lakota East making their intentions clear right from the start. In the 15th minute of the match, junior sensation Juan Bartolon-Perez netted the first goal of the game. The play was beautifully set up by senior Ellis Culligan, who provided a precise assist that Bartolon-Perez clinically converted into a goal.

Just five minutes later, Juan Bartolon-Perez was at it again. In the 20th minute, he found the back of the net once more, this time with an assist from junior James Schnelle. Their quick combination play left the Hamilton defense scrambling and unable to stop the clinical finish. Juan’s 2 goal performance puts him at the top of the GMC with most goals scored this season.

Not to be outdone, senior Mustafa Ubdullah joined the goal-scoring party in the 24th minute. A perfectly timed pass from junior Chris Mfuranzima set up Ubdullah for a goal that showcased his composure and precision in front of the net.

The onslaught continued in the 25th minute, as Ellis Culligan got his name on the score sheet, proving that he was not just an assist machine. Senior Hamza Ibrayghith provided the setup for Culligan, who showcased his scoring prowess with a well-timed run in the box and a clinical finish.

As the game reached its later stages, Chris Mfuranzima put the finishing touches on an outstanding performance. In the 70th minute, Mfuranzima scored an unassisted goal, demonstrating his individual skill and determination. It was the icing on the cake for Lakota East, capping off a memorable victory.

The Lakota East Boys Soccer team's dominance in this match was a testament to their teamwork, skill, and determination. They showcased their ability to score from different positions and proved that they were a force to be reckoned with in the GMC. With a final score of 5-0, this victory will surely boost their confidence as they continue their journey through the season. 

The team currently sits atop the GMC standings with a game against GMC rival, Mason High School on Tuesday evening. The team’s record moves to 5-4-2 (4-1-0 GMC).
