The Lakota East men’s cross country team placed 3rd Friday night at the Loveland Sunset Invitational at Loveland High School.  On a night where the course was not running as fast as expected, the Thunderhawk men still turned in man personal records or season-best performances.

The Hawks were led by sophomore Evan Aponte who placed 6th overall in the 108-runner field.  Aponte’s time was a personal record performance of 16:51.9 for the 5k (3.1-mile) course.  That time is also the 28th fastest time ever run in Lakota East school history.

Also running a personal record was senior, Andrew Gibson, who ran 17:23 to place 10th overall in the race.  The #3 runner for East was senior, Jake Boeskool, who ran a season-best time of 17:47 to place 17th overall.  Right behind Jake was twin brother Nick Boeskool, who also ran a season-best time, running 17:50 for 18th overall.

Senior, and first-year runner, Traves Tideswell was the fifth and final scorer for the Thunderhawks, placing 23rd overall in 18:12, which was also a personal record performance.

The next race for Lakota East Cross Country is the Milford Invitational on Saturday, September 17th at Pattison Elementary School in Milford, OH.
