Baseball Sweeps Spring Break!

Lakota East Baseball put together a strong spring break trip in Tennessee, going 3–0 with wins over John Overton (7–3), Knights Academy (8–6), and Green Hill (10–4).

The Thunderhawks opened with a 7–3 win over John Overton on Monday, 3/30, jumping out early with a five-run first inning. Corbett led the offense with two RBIs and two hits, while Sullivan and Byrd also had multi-hit games. Nicholls set the tone on the mound, allowing just one hit and one run over four innings while striking out eight. East also applied pressure on the bases with six stolen bases.

On Tuesday, 3/31, East rallied for an 8–6 comeback win over Knights Academy. After falling behind 6–3 in the fifth, the Hawks erupted for five runs in the seventh to reclaim the lead, highlighted by Sullivan’s go-ahead two-run single. Egloff sparked the bottom of the lineup with a three-hit performance, while Magato added two hits. The pitching staff combined for a strong effort, and the defense was flawless, turning two double plays without committing an error.

East capped the trip with a 10–4 win over Green Hill on Thursday, 4/2.

The Thunderhawks (3–1, 0–0) return home for their GMC opener today, April 6, at Hamilton.
