The Lakota East Thunderhawks put together a strong three-game stretch recently, earning wins over Princeton and Sycamore behind dominant pitching, timely hitting, and flawless defense.
Lakota East earned a 5-3 victory over Princeton on Monday, 4/27. After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Thunderhawks responded in the second when Egloff delivered a two-run single to give East a 2-1 lead they would not relinquish.
Magato led the offensive attack, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and a single. On the mound, Bruce earned the win, allowing just one hit and one run over three innings while striking out two. Byrd started the game, working two innings, and Lipps added relief. Defensively, East was sharp, turning two double plays and committing no errors, with Sullivan leading the way with six chances.

The Thunderhawks carried that momentum into Wednesday, 4/29, with a 6-0 shutout of Sycamore. Byrd was dominant on the mound, not allowing a hit and securing the final out with a pop-up to complete the shutout.
East broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning. Kuemmel and Miranda each blasted solo home runs, while Byrd, Magato, and Reinhart added RBI singles. The Thunderhawks totaled 13 hits, with Magato again leading the way with three hits and Corbett adding two. The defense remained flawless, with Sullivan recording a team-high eight chances.

Lakota East completed the sweep of Sycamore with a 10-0 win on Thursday, 4/30, fueled by a six-run first inning. Bruce delivered the big blow with a three-run double, while Magato and Shroyer each drove in runs during the early surge.
Roth earned the win with four no-hit innings, striking out two, while Mourer added a scoreless inning in relief. Offensively, Magato continued his hot streak, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Bruce also collected two hits. Shroyer showed outstanding plate discipline, drawing four walks as part of a nine-walk team effort.
The Thunderhawks were once again flawless defensively, with Sullivan leading the team with six fielding chances.
Lakota East (11-6, 8-4 GMC) returns to action Wednesday, May 6, at home against Colerain before traveling to Colerain on Thursday, May 7.
