BASEBALL DEFEATS FAIRFIELD!
Lakota East rallied late to edge Fairfield 4–3 on Monday, breaking a 3–3 tie in the sixth when Shroyer delivered a go-ahead sacrifice fly after Sullivan’s infield single set the table.
Fairfield struck first with a two-double rally in the opening inning, but East answered in the sixth to take control. Swisher was outstanding in relief, tossing 4⅔ hitless, scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Nicholls started, allowing three runs in one inning.
Sullivan and Byrd paced the offense with two hits apiece, while Corbett drove in two runs. East was flawless defensively, with Reinhart handling a team-high nine chances.
Fairfield was led by #23 with two RBIs, and the lineup showed patience with six walks.
Lakota East (5-3, 2-2) travels to Oak Hills on Wednesday.
