SOFTBALL SPLITS TWO

Halina Schulte collected four hits in four at-bats, as Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks defeated Middletown 18-6 on Monday.  Schulte doubled in the first, doubled in the first, homered in the second, and doubled in the third.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks collected 18 hits, and Middletown had 11. Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks fired up the offense in the first inning.  Ella Bauman drove in one when Bauman singled.

Middletown scored three runs in the third inning.  The big inning for Middletown came thanks to a home run by L Johnson and an error on a ball put in play by M Ecnegoyen. Kaitlyn Haiber was the winning pitcher for Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks. Haiber went three innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out one and walking one.  Lilly Sepelak threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

C Vanholle toed the rubber for Middletown. Vanholle lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing 17 hits and 18 runs while striking out one.  L Powers threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks socked two home runs on the day. Leah Arnett went yard in the second inning. Schulte put one out in the second inning.

Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks tallied 18 hits.  Schulte, Arnett, Hailey Thompson, Bauman, and Hailey Hensley each collected multiple hits for Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks.  Arnett and Schulte each managed four hits to lead Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks.

East Softball (7-12, 6-6) suffered a non-conference loss to Centerville on Tuesday by a score of 3-2. No other details have been reported.

Next up, East SB will play at Sycamore TODAY, WED. 4/26. The Hawks home game vs. Fairfield scheduled for Friday has been moved to Thursday, 4/27 due to expected weather issues.
