BASEBALL STAYS ON TOP IN THE GMC!

HAWKS UNDEFEATED AT 6-0 IN LEAGUE PLAY 

On Tuesday (4/19) the Hawks returned to GMC competition with a win over Hamilton Big Blue. The Hawks defeated the Big Blue 6-2, moving them to 9-2 (6-0) and leading the GMC by 1 game over Mason and Oak Hills.

The game was dominated by senior left-handed pitcher Jack Villarreal. The lefty allowed just 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 13 Big Blue hitters in his complete game, earning him his 3rd win of the season. The Thunderhawk offense was quick to get started in the game, scoring a run in the first inning and leaving the bases loaded.

The Hawks threatened on the basepaths much of the game, tallying 10 hits and 25 baserunners during the contest. The Hawks were led by a trio of seniors, Riley Duperier (2-4), Jacob Finley (2-5, RBI), and Collin Sweeney (2-4, HR 2 RBIs). Senior Trent Dilley reached base 3 times and made a diving catch to retire the first hitter of the game for Hamilton. Junior Drew Tower went 1-3 with a double and an RBI as well.

The Hawks have a very busy two weeks ahead of them, with 10 league games on the schedule. Next up for the Hawks is Fairfield High School at home TODAY, Wednesday.
